And another thing.....

It occurs to me that I have been knitting away but have taken no pictures of it lately. Hmm. Maybe later this week, pictures of projects.

Pete's watching the second season of Weeds and I think I will join him, with the aforementioned knitting.

The Last Days of Teeball

In typical slacker-parent fashion, we opted out of the last practice this week (eh, it was at 5 instead of the usual 6 pm, and honestly we are still at work/leaving work at that point!). Pete had a commitment he couldn't get out of, so it was just me for the last game on Saturday. It was mercifully not at 8:00.

Sitting the bench, signing cards for Coach
Coach and Ella (his daughter). "Don't tell me how to hold the bat, DAD!"
That's better.
Run, Charlotte, run! And she did.
Fielding. Approximately 90 seconds later, she insisted on visiting the porta-potties.
Game called on account of everyone-is-hot-and-tired. Or something. Team photo!
And a trophy.
Whatever shall we do with our Saturday mornings now? In the fall there will be dance lessons or yoga....but for now I think we will power down into summer mode. I see a chair under the maple and many cups of coffee with my name on them.....now if only the sun would come out!

We spent last Saturday afternoon and night in Rye with the Warrs...beach, barbecue, a bit of boozing...good times as always.

Last game

This is Friday night, and it's exactly what I needed:

I'll take pictures of you, you take pictures of me.

Dinner at the picnic table again!

Puttering around

Brewery Ommegang's Hennepin. In a Schlitz glass.
Where I been at? Wellllll....

My boss decided to go on vacation. This is what I would like to send him, if everything were not blocked by our firewall (aka Big Brother).
("Homer Alone". Marge goes to Rancho Relaxo....and all hell breaks loose. "Never leave again! Never leave again!")

But the week is over. And I resisted drowning my blackberry only because then the beer might not taste the same.

Tomorrow: the final curtain falls on teeball, and whatever I decide I feel like doing (directly related to how much sleep I get!).

Fueling up

A Fathers' Day list

My dad is 12 inches tall.
He weighs 30.
He has blue eyes and brown hair.
He likes to eat pizza.
My dad's favorite thing to do is be with me.
I love my dad because he hugs me everyday.

Fun stuff

Because it's Monday, and I am unmotivated as far as getting to work is concerned....here are pictures. Last weekend we went out to Greenville NH to ride some trails in the woods and camp.

Charlotte got to play with her friend Brooke. Mostly, they enjoyed the large mud puddles surrounding us.

It turned out that when the ice storm tore through here in December of last year, it did some significant damage to the trees. So there was a bit of trail cleanup that had to happen over the course of the day.

Unbroken treetops

A little hole, hidden away. We thought it might be a fairy house.

Once we made it back to camp, there were snacks, a campfire and trash can turkey. Everyone brought something to share, so we ended up with turkey, canberry, corn on the cob, pork tenderloin.....I did not take pictures of any of this, because I was too busy eating!

The rain began around the time I was getting Lou ready for bed. I was reading her stories and could hear it falling harder, so I popped out to brush my teeth and refill my water. Good thing too, because by the time she was ready to settle down it was pouring. There was crazy thunder that shook the earth....but she slept through it. Amazing.

We ended up packing it in the next day, early....I would have been game to stick around, but the bag with our clothes was in the low corner of the tent and Lou and I had our last dry stuff on our bodies. I'm looking forward to camping again soon, maybe in a place with facilities?
